DNS stands for the Domain Name Service, the software and protocols
that translate a domain name like www.yourdomain.com into an address
that internet servers understand (IP addresses) such as 213.219.9.47.
A request for such a translation is called a DNS query. DNS servers
contain a database of information on which domain name should be
pointed to which server.
In order for your domain name to point to your website you must
have entries in at least 2 DNS servers, a Primary and Secondary
DNS. Fusion host all DNS entries for sites hosted on Fusion servers.
You may need to transfer your DNS entries from
either the place you bought the name from or from your previous
web hosting company.
| Primary DNS: |
NS0.SERVE.CO.UK |
| |
212.69.192.10 |
| |
|
| Secondary DNS: |
NS0.SERVE.NET.UK |
| |
212.69.192.11 |
Alternatively, for domain names that end in '.co.uk',
your current hosting service may require an IPS tag. The
system of IPS tags has been introduced to ease the process of transferring
domain names. The IPS tag for the Fusion servers is DSVR.
Note: It
is extremely important that we know your domain names are going
to be repointed to the Fusion servers, and that Fusion have agreed
to host your DNS entries.
